Employment Opportunities

For the past few years, we have been collaborating with local beekeepers in 7 states to teach our curriculum at local colleges. Most colleges like to have a vetted program curriculum that has been developed by a faculty member. As a previous Assistant Professor Research in Entomology at the University of Missouri, my experience in research and honeybee rearing gives weight to the program content. Beekeepers with 7 years or greater experience provide the expertise. Together we work together to provide quality and standardized education to benefit local honeybee populations and beekeepers.

We are looking to expand our list of quality beekeepers to teach our classes this year. All beekeepers are independent consultants. If you wish to obtain your MMBP certification, you volunteer to teach to earn your required mentoring hours. You’re reimbursed for mileage. If you’re not interested in certification and have 7 years of experience or greater, you are paid $20/hour plus mileage.

Classes are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00pm – 8:30pm each day or on Saturdays 8am – noon.

There are participating colleges in Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri. If there’s a local college in your area that you feel could use our certification program and/or classes, please let us know.

If you’re interested in teaching for us, please contact us.
